Join us for the 3rd Baboon Biennale
19 September, sunrise to sunset, Smitswinkel Bay
Since 2022 we've come together to celebrate the baboons we share the peninsula with. This year the theme is Baboons as our Heritage. We asked artists to sit with that idea and make work that speaks to it.
Come down for the day. There's the artist opening, a panel, Â a walk where you learn what baboons eat and how they eat and an outdoor film screened on the rocks. .
Then lunch, two ways. You can eat what baboons eat in a cooked up foraging feast, or you can go for a boerewors roll. Vegan options either way, so bring the whole family.
More than twenty artists are showing, and our young emerging artists have made work for it alongside them. There's an auction too, so bring your credit card and your Snapscan, come enjoy the day, and take some baboon art home with you.

Coastal Foraging Workshop
We hope to not only educate but also inspire with our foraging workshops, and hope that by providing people with the know-how, will see seaweed being used more for its nutritious goodness!
